About the Potomac Region ASPRS

Potomac Region Map

Our region serves ASPRS members in Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia; the District of Columbia; and select counties in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

The membership in our region reflects the entire range of ASPRS’ technical fields – remote sensing, photogrammetry, GIS, LiDAR, UAS, primary data acquisition. They are working for a diverse set of employers (federal and state agencies, large and small data providers, and engineering and technical service providers, universities) that have a significant impact on current, near-term and long-term policies and programs impacting the collection & availability of spatial data.

The North Carolina Chapter of ASPRS (NCASPRS) provides training, certifications and networking opportunities for members throughout North Carolina. University student chapters have formed in several universities, enabling students to grow professionally.

Mission & Vision

The region desires to foster interaction, sharing and communication among the members; promote the geospatial fields as viable careers for students; and encourage young professionals to engage in ASPRS to enhance their careers and help grow the field.
