GeoTech 2008: Scope of the Conference
The geospatial community is evolving at a rapid pace. New sensors are producing ever-increasing volumes of geospatial data, while the number of applications delivered on internet and wireless platforms has exploded. Just keeping up with the state of geospatial technology is a difficult task.
Geotech 2008 addresses this problem with its theme of "Emerging Geospatial Technologies and Applications." Technical session topics will include new data acquisition, distribution, and application technologies, each featuring presentations by well-known experts. The data acquisition session will discuss technologies ranging from street-level video and lidar scanning to current and future developments in satellite imaging, as well as radar and remote sensing capabilities. Web delivery of geospatial data will be discussed in the distribution session. The emerging applications session will cover topics including automated feature extraction, GIS and location-based systems, and current and planned personal navigation systems.
